Herb Compound Butter
Herb compound butter is an easy way to add bold flavor to a simple meal. Spread it onto bread, slather it onto corn on the cob, or top it onto a baked potato! Find more serving suggestions in the post above.
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temp
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped dill
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
- ½ clove garlic, grated
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temp
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
- ¼ teaspoon lemon zest
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- Pinch red pepper flakes
- ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temp
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped rosemary
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped sage
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temp
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped sun dried tomatoes
- ½ garlic clove, grated
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
Directions
- In a small bowl, stir together the softened butter and the ingredients from one of the herb combinations above.
- Scoop the herb butter onto a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap, roll into a log and twist the ends to close. Chill overnight, or until firm.
